About the Role
A rare opportunity has arisen for a skilled Engine Builder to join a highly respected classic car restoration company based in the Coventry area.
This business is renowned for its precision engineering and commitment to excellence, restoring some of the most iconic and historically significant vehicles in the UK.
As an Engine Builder, you will be responsible for the complete overhaul, assembly, and testing of classic car engines, ensuring all work is carried out to the highest possible standard.
Key Responsibilities as an Engine Builder:
* Strip down, inspect, rebuild, and reassemble classic car engines to factory specifications.
* Diagnose mechanical faults and carry out precision repairs and adjustments.
* Operate a range of hand tools, measuring equipment, and machining tools.
* Maintain detailed records of work completed and parts used.
* Work to exacting tolerances, maintaining exceptional attention to detail throughout the process.
* Collaborate with other workshop team members to ensure efficient workflow and quality output.
Requirements of the Engine Builder:
* Proven experience as an Engine Builder, ideally within the classic or specialist car industry.
* Excellent mechanical knowledge, including understanding of classic petrol engines.
* Ability to read and interpret technical manuals, blueprints, and engineering drawings.
* Strong attention to detail and commitment to maintaining original engineering standards.
* Capable of working independently and managing multiple ongoing projects.
* Full UK driving licence preferred.
