Driver - Team Leader
Are you a natural leader with a passion for logistics and delivering top-notch customer service? We’re looking for a hands-on Driver - Team Leader to manage and support a team of drivers, ensuring smooth hub operations and high standards of service. If you’re ready to take the lead, work closely with the UK Transport Manager, and make a real impact, this role is for you!
Key Responsibilities:
1. Lead and manage a team of drivers at your assigned hub
2. Liaise with UK Transport Manager to resolve operational issues
3. Oversee vehicle maintenance, pre-operation checks, and defect reporting
4. Arrange vehicle recovery in case of breakdowns and manage hire vehicles when needed
5. Coordinate driver schedules, including holiday cover and sickness management
6. Conduct return-to-work interviews and monitor attendance using the Bradford Absence Management Policy
7. Ensure all customer returns are securely packaged and reported accurately
8. Monitor and report health & safety issues to maintain a safe working environment
9. Identify and drive opportunities for continuous improvement
10. Conduct performance reviews, assist with recruitment, and resolve any conflicts
11. Maintain exceptional customer service standards and ensure compliance with company policies
What You'll Bring:
1. Proven experience managing a team in a fast-paced logistics or transport environment
2. Strong route planning and multi-drop delivery knowledge
3. Excellent leadership and communication skills
4. Basic IT skills and ADR awareness
5. Ability to handle physical tasks (lifting up to 23kg)
