Vision for Education are recruiting an experienced SEN Teacher to work within a specialist school for pupils with complex needs in South Bristol.
This is a rewarding opportunity for a skilled and compassionate teacher who has experience supporting children with a range of complex learning needs, including severe learning difficulties (SLD), profound and multiple learning difficulties (PMLD), autism, and associated medical or communication needs.
As an SEN Teacher in this specialist setting, you will play a vital role in delivering highly personalised learning experiences that support pupils’ academic, social, emotional, and physical development.
Your responsibilities may include:
1. Planning and delivering differentiated, individualised lessons tailored to complex needs
2. Creating engaging, sensory-based learning opportunities
3. Working with pupils with EHCPs to meet specific outcomes
4. Collaborating closely with support staff, therapists, and external professionals
5. Supporting communication through PECS, Makaton, AAC, or other strategies
6. Monitoring progress using appropriate assessment frameworks
7. Creating a safe, structured, and nurturing classroom environment
8. Supporting personal care where required (with support staff)

What We’re Looking For
We are seeking a dedicated SEN Teacher who:
9. Holds QTS (Qualified Teacher Status)
10. Has experience teaching pupils with complex or profound learning needs
11. Is confident adapting the curriculum to meet individual EHCP targets
12. Has strong behaviour management skills within specialist settings
13. Is knowledgeable about communication strategies and sensory learning
14. Works effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team
15. Is resilient, empathetic, and committed to inclusive education
Experience within a specialist school or resource base is highly desirable.
