We are currently recruiting on behalf of a leading manufacturer seeking skilled machinists to join their expert team in Motherwell. This is a workshop-based role offering excellent pay, modern CNC equipment, and a 1-week rotating shift pattern (days, backshift, and nightshift). You’ll be working with both metallic and non-metallic materials, operating advanced machinery to tight tolerances using Fanuc, Mazatrol, and Heidenhain controls. Key Benefits: * Excellent Salary: £39,000 – £52,000 per year (including 25% shift allowance) * Fixed Weekly Hours: 37 hours per week * 1-Week Rotating Shift Pattern: * Days: 7:00 AM – 3:00 PM (Mon–Fri) * Backshift: 3:00 PM – 10:30 PM (Mon–Thurs), 3:00 PM – 10:00 PM (Fri) * Nightshift: 11:00 PM – 7:00 AM (Mon–Thurs, finishing Friday morning) * Workshop-Based Role: No travel required, work with the latest CNC machinery * Work on Diverse Projects: Including high-spec industrial and aerospace components * Job Security: Permanent, full-time position with career growth potential Key Responsibilities: * Operate and set up CNC Turning and 3/4/5 Axis Milling machinery * Follow technical blueprints, CAD drawings, and engineering sketches * Perform inspection and quality checks using CMM, measuring instruments, and gauges * Set up and select appropriate tooling and workholding equipment * Work with a variety of metallic and non-metallic materials * Ensure work is completed to tight tolerances and high-quality standards * Contribute to a clean, safe, and efficient workshop environment Essential Requirements: * Time-served as a CNC Machinist or in a relevant mechanical trade * Ability to work a rotating 1-week shift pattern (days, backshift, and nights) * Solid manufacturing/engineering workshop background * Proficient in using Fanuc, Mazatrol, and/or Heidenhain CNC control systems * Strong understanding of engineering tolerances, tooling, and precision measurement Desirable Experience (Not Essential): * Experience in the aerospace, defence, or high-spec precision industries * Familiarity with lean manufacturing, continuous improvement, or ISO standards
