Mid Market Senior Underwriter - Salary is Competitive
Location - Cardiff
We are currently looking for a Senior Mid Market Trading Underwriter to join the Aviva business.
As a Trading underwriter, you will be responsible for servicing brokers, underwriting new business, renewals, and MTAs. This role is ideal for someone with a broking or underwriting background who is passionate about developing their career.
You will be aligned to a portfolio of brokers and customers, proactively developing and profitably growing their commercial book of business. You will partner with brokers and customers to understand their needs, using data insights to provide comprehensive solutions.
You will handle complex cases, including referrals, review team and book performance, and collaborate with leaders on strategy.
This role requires travel to broker visits across South Wales, so flexibility is necessary.
About the job:
1. Operate as a multiclass underwriter within guidelines and authority levels to grow the business profitably.
2. Build relationships through face-to-face meetings with brokers and customers to enhance confidence and loyalty.
3. Manage end-to-end dealings with brokers and customers.
4. Understand and embrace Aviva's regional SME & Mid Market trading strategy.
5. Develop knowledge of the commercial insurance sector.
6. Participate in Aviva’s training programs to enhance your skills.
Skills and experience required:
1. Experience in property, liability, and/or fleet underwriting is essential.
2. Ability to analyze risks and communicate effectively with brokers and customers.
3. Ability to work collaboratively within a large organization.
4. Knowledge of FCA regulations and legislation.
5. Strong commercial acumen to create and present business cases.
