We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Microsoft AI Co-pilot developer to join our dynamic Digital and IT team. This is a permanent, full-time role where you will play a pivotal role in shaping the future of our services by leading the build, design, development, and deployment of our Microsoft AI Co-pilot. Working predominantly remotely with a requirement for occasional office attendance (once a week or as needed), you will be instrumental in harnessing the power of AI to enhance efficiency, streamline operations, and ultimately improve the lives of our community. As a key member of our small and agile development team, you will have the unique opportunity to be a part of the charge in integrating innovative AI solutions across the council, directly contributing to our digital transformation journey. What you'll be doing: Participating in the entire lifecycle of our Microsoft AI Co-pilot, from initial concept and design through to development and successful deployment. Leveraging your deep expertise in the Microsoft Power Platform (Power Apps, Power Automate, Power BI, Power Virtual Agents) and AI Copilot technologies to build robust and scalable solutions. Developing user-centric applications by expertly creating, customising, and maintaining solutions using Power Apps to directly address critical business requirements. Driving operational excellence by designing, developing, and implementing automated workflows using Power Automate to streamline key processes and enhance productivity. Integrating intelligent AI capabilities into our applications by implementing AI Builder and Copilot features, unlocking new levels of automation and insight. Effectively managing diverse data sources, ensuring the utmost data integrity, and strategically optimising data usage within our Power Platform ecosystem. Proactively monitoring and rigorously analysing the performance of our Power Platform solutions, identifying areas for improvement and implementing impactful enhancements. Staying at the forefront of Microsoft Power Platform and Copilot advancements, continuously exploring and leveraging new features to provide innovative business advantages. Seamlessly integrating AI solutions with existing council systems and applications through the effective use of connectors and APIs. Developing impactful solutions that demonstrably introduce efficiencies across the council through the strategic application of AI and automation. What you'll bring to the team: Proven and demonstrable experience in the development and deployment of Microsoft AI Co-pilot solutions. Extensive hands-on experience with the Microsoft Power Platform, including in-depth knowledge of Power Apps, Power Automate, Power BI, and Power Virtual Agents. A strong understanding of AI models and algorithms and their practical application within the Microsoft ecosystem. Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with a keen eye for detail. Strong communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to effectively articulate technical concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders. A proactive and self-motivated approach with the ability to manage your workload effectively in a remote working environment. A genuine passion for leveraging technology to make a positive impact on public services. Nice-to-have skills: Experience developing Copilot agents within a public sector environment. Familiarity with Microsoft 365 suite of applications. Working knowledge of SQL and database principles. Experience with JSON and API integrations. Our working arrangements All council roles are allocated to either a fixed, field or flexible work style. Some roles are agile which enable and empower employees to maximise their performance and productivity, whilst maintaining a healthy work life balance. Roles with a fixed workstyle work in a fixed permanent council location. Roles with a field workstyle are usually allocated where employees are required to be out working in the community with a minimum requirement for 'touch down' space at any council location.
