Wellcome Collection is a free museum and library exploring health and human experience, offering exhibitions, collections, events, and a shop and café. We publish books and online stories.
As we implement a new ten-year strategy, we seek two Library Experience & Engagement Facilitators to join us permanently, helping realize our vision of a world where everyone’s health experience matters.
Part of Wellcome Trust, a global charity supporting science for a healthier future, we plan to spend £16bn over the next decade to fund discoveries in life, health, and wellbeing, tackling mental health, infectious disease, and climate health challenges.
We believe these challenges require bold science and community engagement.
Role Location: You will work within the Library Experience & Engagement team, reporting to a Library Experience and Engagement Manager, in a role focused on providing a welcoming, inclusive space for visitors.
The team supports visitors through library services and remote enquiries, ensuring access to information and resources, and manages collection retrievals from closed stores. We also develop engagement activities to connect visitors with our collections and spaces, fostering participation and partnerships.
Responsibilities include:
* Providing high-quality assistance to users at library points and via email/phone
* Collaborating to ensure an inclusive, positive user experience
* Sharing expertise to enhance visitor engagement
* Supporting cataloguing and collection management tasks with the Collections & Digital teams
* Developing and delivering new engagement activities for diverse audiences
* Contributing to an inclusive culture across departments
Candidate Profile: You should have excellent communication and presentation skills, experience engaging diverse audiences, a passion for libraries and archives, and a commitment to inclusivity. You must be able to work effectively in a team, pay attention to detail, and manage your time efficiently.
