About the Role:
Cover People are currently recruiting for an English Teacher to join a supportive and ambitious secondary school in Salford from September 2026 until Easter 2027.
This is an excellent opportunity for both Early Career Teachers and experienced educators to teach English Language and Literature across KS3 and GCSE. The school prides itself on maintaining high expectations, fostering positive relationships and providing students with a broad and engaging curriculum. ECTs will receive excellent support from experienced colleagues within the English department, whilst experienced teachers will have the opportunity to contribute to a successful and forward:thinking team committed to raising attainment and promoting a love of reading and literature.
M1 M6 Teachers will be paid to scale from day one.
Key Responsibilities:
. Deliver high:quality English teaching in line with the national curriculum
. Plan and deliver engaging lessons across KS3 and GCSE English Language and Literature
. Monitor, assess and track student progress effectively
. Manage classroom behaviour and create a positive learning environment
. Differentiate lessons to support students of varying abilities and needs
. Support the academic and personal development of all learners
. Contribute positively to department planning and wider school initiatives
Requirements:
. QTS or equivalent UK teaching qualification
. Experience teaching KS3 and GCSE English
. Strong classroom and behaviour management skills
. A passion for English and raising student attainment
. Excellent communication and organisational skills
. Right to work in the UK
