Generous death in service/life assurance benefit ​ Role Background The EDI & Anti-Racism Manager role exists to strengthen the organisation’s commitment to creating a fair, inclusive and anti‑racist culture across the organisation. As a key member of the People & Culture team and a core contributor to the Patient Carer Race Equality Framework & Anti Racism Delivery (PCREF AR) group, the role ensures that equity, diversity, inclusion and anti‑racism principles are embedded consistently into organisational strategy, policies, processes and staff experience. Working collaboratively with internal teams, leaders, employee-led groups, community organisations and the communities of Bradford District and Craven, the role provides the coordination, influence and practical support needed to align our services with community needs, improve our inclusive workplace and elevate the visibility of Equity Diversity Inclusion and Anti-Racism initiatives internally and externally. This role is essential in enabling BDC Mind to model its values and foster an environment where all individuals feel respected, represented and able to thrive. ​ Role Purpose As the EDI & Anti Racism Manager you will play a pivotal role in shaping our organisational culture and services to ensure they are aligned with our PCREF AR commitment and competencies. You will take pivotal role in PCREF AR Delivery group, collaborate with internal teams, and engage external stakeholders, to promote equity, diversity, inclusion and anti-racism practices across all aspects of our operations. Working in People & Culture team and in close cooperation with services across the organisation, you will coordinate our organizational commitment to EDI and Anti-racism values. ​ Role Outcomes Lead the coordination of our PCREF AR delivery group and support the implementation of objectives and actions within our action plan, ensuring actions remain aligned with the wider organisational strategy, values, mission. Support Head of People & Culture to improve the inclusive experience for the workforce throughout the employment cycle, from recruitment to retention and development. In collaboration with Head of People & Culture, support shaping and leading forward the employee led forums and organisational events that contribute to enhancing an open and inclusive environment. Support services and work closely with the Head of Service Quality and Impact to ensure our services are reflective and responsive to the community we serve. Analyse, evaluate and identify emerging themes and learning relating to EDI and AR from our quality assurance framework amongst other tools and work with service teams to ensure learning is implemented across the organisation Work in collaboration with the Senior Leadership Team to ensure that policies and processes are inclusive and support ourEDI & Anti-racism commitments. Work with the communications team to contribute to meaningful campaigns such as those for Equality Week, LGBTQ History Month, Black History Month, South Asian History Month, and promote the profile of our EDI & Anti-racism initiatives. Play a proactive role in encouraging and championing cross-organisational awareness of equity and diversity issues, including anti racism. Establish a strong presence across Bradford District and Craven by attending key events, driving awareness and connecting with stakeholders across the District, harnessing meaningful relationships to strengthen collaboration. ​ Lead the exploration and potential implementation of equity-related and anti-racism initiatives/charter marks as appropriate Using critical thinking and data analysis skills, produce high quality reports (both quantitative and qualitative) that detail our progress against PCREF and Anti Racism commitments. Actively engage in supervision, team meetings and company events to contribute to a well-connected, informed and supportive team environment Successfully complete all mandatory and role-specific training to ensure best practices in safeguarding, data protection, health and safety and mental health awareness Adapt to evolving service needs by taking on additional responsibilities as required, ensuring a cohesive and effective team approach ​ ​ Person specification Bradford District and Craven Mind is committed to promoting mental health awareness, reducing stigma, and improving the quality of life for people with mental health challenges. Qualifications Desirable: A degree level qualification in related subjects ​ ​ Experience Essential: Proven experience in leading EDI & Anti-racism initiatives with an understanding of how this would be applied in a charity Experience of project planning, management, implementation and evaluation. Experience of facilitating open discussions with stakeholders Experience of data collection, management and analysis Experience leading or influencing a group of individuals with diverse backgrounds, skills and experience in an organisational context ​ Experience working with community-based and statutory organizations to promote equitable partnerships. ​ Desirable: Living experience of working as a member of minoritised communities Experience of working with people from marginalised and minoritised communities, and/or people with Serious Mental Illness. ​ ​ Skills and Abilities Essential: Confident and approachable communicator, able to engage with a wide range of people and ability to work with and between stakeholders at all levels, internally and externally Skilled relationship builder, able to build trust and cooperation among service members, colleagues, stakeholders, and local communities. Pro-active self-starter with the ability to work as a team and independently to drive action and impact Good IT skills, including Microsoft packages (particularly Word, Outlook, Power Point and Excel) and use of the world wide web and social networking sites ​ Knowledge Essential: Demonstrates high level of knowledge and understanding of equality, diversity, inclusion and Anti-racism including relevant legislation and best practice Knowledge and understanding of the diverse population of Bradford District and Craven Clear understanding of working with intersectionality to improve support where different identities (e.g., race, gender, disability, sexual orientation, socio-economic background) intersect Deep understanding of systemic oppression, anti-racist practice, and organizational change in the context of mental health, social care, or the voluntary sector. Substantial knowledge and understanding of inequities in mental health. ​ Desirable: Understanding of PCREF commitments and competences ​ Attitude and Personal Attributes Essential: A firm belief that all people matter and deserve respect An evidenced belief that everyone can change Resilient and adaptable – able to respond effectively to challenges and change in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
