We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Pharmacy Dispenser to join the Pharmacy at University Hospital Southampton NHS Foundation Trust.
Main duties of the job As a Pharmacy Dispenser, you will play a crucial role in providing patient care and ensuring the safe and accurate administration of medications. Your responsibilities will include assisting pharmacists in dispensing prescriptions, maintaining inventory, and providing excellent customer service.
This is a full-time role (37.5 hours) for a Band 2 pharmacy dispenser who will be an integral part of the medicines optimisation clinical services team, providing pharmacy services and working closely within the multi-disciplinary team.

Job responsibilities Key Duties & Responsibilities
Assist pharmacists in dispensing medications to patients
Prepare and label prescription medications accurately
Maintain proper storage and handling of medications
Provide information and guidance to patients regarding medication usage and potential side effects
Collaborate with healthcare professionals to ensure appropriate medication therapy
Process insurance claims and handle billing inquiries
Maintain accurate patient records and prescription files
Person Specification Qualifications Strong knowledge of pharmaceuticals and medication administration
Excellent attention to detail and accuracy
Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment
Strong communication and interpersonal skills
Proficiency in using pharmacy software systems
