We are seeking to appoint a highly motivated Public Health Data Analyst to work in our busy Public Health Team.
This is a great opportunity for someone with good data and analytical skills wanting to develop their knowledge and experience whilst making a difference to the health and wellbeing of the people in South Tyneside. You will do this by providing accurate and timely data and information to support the overall delivery of public health programmes and commissioned services.
While undertaking a 36-month Health and Care Intelligence Specialist Level 7 Apprenticeship you will contribute to the wider public health knowledge and intelligence programme. Working as part of a team, you will play a key role in the performance monitoring, ongoing development of the Joint Strategic Needs and Assets Assessment and the preparation and presentation of reports and briefings for Elected Members, Senior Management, programme boards and strategic partnerships.
Over the 36-month apprenticeship, 22 months will be as part of an accelerated training phase with a minimum of 20% will be off-the-job training.
The format for this is:
* Tutor-led, interactive seminars via Teams or Zoom, with leading practitioners, typically a day a month
* Monthly 1-2-1 time with an experienced skills coach
* Professionally guided small group round tables
* Behavioural and pastoral support from a Learner Progress Adviser
* Online learning and self-study materials
* An individualised Workplace Development Plan focused on both learner and business needs
* Quarterly reviews with line managers
* Self-study
The Candidate must have one of the following to be accepted onto the programme:
* Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) undergraduate degree.
* Social Sciences (e.g. Psychology, Geography, Economics, Accounting) undergraduate degree with Research Methods and/or Statistics modules and an undergraduate dissertation that included a research data analysis component.
* Level 4 or higher qualification in STEM or a related field that includes substantial mathematical content (e.g., Higher National Certificate/Diploma in Computing, Engineering, or Science).
* Professional registration with FEDIP through the Association of Healthcare Analysts (AphA) at Practitioner or Senior Practitioner level.
* Equivalent analytical work experience
The role will be offered as a flexible 37 hours per week, utilising hybrid working with a mixture of home and office. There will be a requirement to attend some face-to-face meetings.
