* Salary: £12.90‑£13.20 per hour
* Hours: Monday to Friday, 37 hours
* Location: Office based Solihull
* DBS: An Enhanced DBS check will be required before commencing this role.
The Student Attendance Officer role is to support tutors in monitoring and tracking full-time student attendance and punctuality. The Officer will also act as pastoral support to students who find it difficult to sustain regular attendance or are at risk of failing their course for other reasons.
Key Duties
* Support students in maintaining high attendance levels and ensure they remain on course and are successful.
* Assist tutors in tracking and following up on student attendance daily.
* Maintain a reporting system regarding student attendance and behaviour.
* Act as a link between tutors, students, and parents.
* Monitor and work with students whose attendance falls below agreed levels.
* Drive the disciplinary process, ensuring all relevant paperwork is completed in a timely manner.
* Attend monthly risk meetings and complete the at‑risk register.
* Provide a first point of contact for students/parents reporting absence.
* Undertake mandatory training (e.g., Safeguarding, Prevent) promptly.
* Other duties as required, consistent with the role grading.
Key Skills & Experience Required
* Previous administrative experience.
* Experience working within an education setting is advantageous.
* Ability to meet deadlines.
* Experience using Microsoft Office (especially Excel and Word).
This is an excellent role for an experienced Student Attendance Officer to work within a busy team. In return you will receive between £12.90 and £13.20 per hour.
