Job Title: Service Manager
Location: Hawthorne House, CV4 9QS
Salary: Up to £50,000 (DOE)
Hours: 40 hours per week (9a.m - 5p.m)
About the Service:
Hawthorne House is a modern, purpose-built specialist mental health care facility in the Tile Hill area of West Coventry. It provides specialist care and rehabilitation for adults with mental health and other needs, including all types of dementia, acquired brain injury (ABI), physical disabilities and learning needs, step-down, respite, nursing, and end-of-life care.
Overview
The Service Manager (SM) is responsible for upholding and promoting the company's Ethos, Mission, Vision, and core values. They must ensure that staff within their area follow company policies and professional standards, particularly nursing staff who must adhere to their code of conduct and scope of practice. The Service Manager is also accountable for reporting any client safety or welfare concerns promptly. Additionally, they provide clinical and professional leadership, manage nursing operations, and support ongoing professional development within their area of responsibility.
Main Duties of the Role:
Leadership & Accountability:
* Assists the Registered Manager in the day-to-day management of designated areas.
Keep the Registered Manager fully informed regarding issues within designated area of responsibility.
* Assists the Registered Manager in leading and managing interdisciplinary care for service users in area of responsibility.
* In conjunction with Registered Manager empowers staff through coaching, education, supervision.
* Assists the Registered Manager in leading the nursing and MDT through regular team meetings.
Professional & Clinical Responsibility:
* Ensures that service users receive the highest standard of clinical/holistic care.
Assist the Registered Manager in ensuring that service policies and procedures are implemented and monitored within area of responsibility.
* Assist the Registered Manager in developing and ensuring interdisciplinary networking with families is a high-quality effective system for service delivery.
Assist the Registered Manager in monitoring and evaluating support services relevant to the area of responsibility.
* Ensures practices in the workplace comply with relevant legislation.
Upholds the code of professional conduct in practice.
Human Resources:
* Works with Registered Manager in developing strategies for staff retention.
Assist the Registered Manager as required on the recruitment of staff for area of responsibility.
* Assists the Registered Manager to fosters an environment that supports and encourages personal professional development and learning.
* Contributes to the development of an organisational culture conducive to the establishment and maintenance of good staff morale.
