As a Client Partner, you will play a pivotal role in leading and growing key accounts within the UK public sector, with a particular focus on central government clients. You have a passion for delivering meaningful work which has a direct impact on end users. You will be responsible for building trusted relationships at senior executive level, ensuring delivery excellence and driving account growth, all while navigating the unique landscape of public sector procurement, frameworks and digital standards.
Role responsibilities
Public Sector Client Relationship Management
* Build and maintain trust-based relationships with stakeholders across central government departments, agencies, and public bodies.
* Act as the primary day‑to‑day point of contact, understanding the priorities, challenges, and regulatory environment of UK public sector clients.
* Represent the consultancy’s perspective on digital transformation, strategy, and delivery best practices, with a strong grounding in public sector needs and constraints.
Delivery Oversight & GDS Standards
* Collaborate with delivery teams to ensure projects meet Government Digital Service (GDS) standards and comply with relevant public sector policies.
* Monitor delivery progress, proactively manage client expectations, and ensure alignment with government digital strategies and service assessments.
Account Growth & Opportunity Development
* Identify and validate growth opportunities within public sector accounts, including upselling, cross‑selling, and expansion into new departments or agencies.
* Shape strategic proposals and responses to public sector briefs, leveraging knowledge of frameworks such as G‑Cloud, Digital Outcomes and Specialists (DOS), and other Crown Commercial Service (CCS) agreements.
* Contribute to the development and execution of account plans tailored to the public sector landscape.
Public Sector Commercial Management
* Take shared accountability for account‑level commercials, with a strong understanding of public sector procurement processes, pricing models, and compliance requirements.
* Maintain awareness of budgets, margin, and team utilisation, ensuring all commercial activity aligns with public sector procurement rules and best practice.
* Raise risks or issues impacting financial health early, particularly those related to framework compliance or contract delivery.
Social Value & Internal Collaboration
* Champion social value initiatives, ensuring that project delivery and account growth contribute positively to the communities and priorities outlined in government social value frameworks.
* Work cross‑functionally with strategy, technology, design, and delivery teams to bring integrated solutions to public sector clients.
* Forster a culture of public sector expertise and continuous improvement.
Must have qualifications
* 4–7 years’ experience in a client‑facing digital consultancy, agency, or technology‑led environment, with a significant focus on UK public sector or central government clients.
* Demonstrable experience managing multi‑disciplinary teams to deliver digital platforms, products, or services for public sector organisations.
* Deep understanding of public sector procurement, frameworks (e.g., G‑Cloud, DOS), and the unique requirements of government clients.
* Eligibility for, or previously held Security Clearance would be advantageous.
