The Lantern Community is home to 53 resident Companions (adults with diverse abilities) and more than 20 Day placements from the local area. We offer meaningful day opportunities during the week, across our 9 Workshops.
About the role:
To carry out activities to encourage the development of the Companions, recording and reviewing progress with the Residents’ Assistant House Co-ordinator or House Co-ordinator (depending on the house) / Registered Manager so that the Residents can fulfil their potential for independence.
To implement support and care plans by providing either one to one support or shared support and care for supported individuals offering a range of services e.g. Relationship and Emotional Support, Cooking, Cleaning - which all help promote independence, self-confidence and a positive self-image
About you:
* A warm, person centred approach and ability to positively engage with people with diverse learning abilities.
* Good verbal communication skills and interpersonal skills
* Ability to work positively as part of a team.
* Experience of providing support to people with learning disabilities, including Autism or other support needs.
* Good written communication skills, with an ability to contribute to a record keeping system.
* Level 2/3 in Health and Social care qualifications are desirable. However, training will be provided.
* UK residence only
* Satisfactory References and DBS
* Driving Licence (preferred)
