Overview

The Environment Agency is committed to an inclusive workforce reflecting the communities we serve. We are establishing a Transformation Portfolio Management Office (PMO) to centralise the portfolio for change, transformation, and continuous improvement. We are hiring two Benefits and Efficiencies Analysts to join the team. You will be part of the PMO, analysing data from PMO colleagues and project/programme managers across the portfolio, helping to set standards for benefits and value management, and embedding them across delivery.

You will help our teams identify, value, and validate project benefits, supporting decision-making, risk management, and evidence-based change.

The PMO sits within the Transformation Team of the STA (Strategy, Transformation and Assurance) directorate. The Portfolio Management Office supports change, transformation, and continuous improvement across the business.


Responsibilities

* Analyse data from PMO colleagues and project and programme managers across the portfolio.
* Set and embed standards for benefits and value management.
* Identify, value, and validate project benefits.
* Support change and transformation initiatives through evidence-based decisions.
* Collaborate across organisational boundaries and build constructive relationships.


Qualifications and Skills

* Strong analytical skills with proven experience as a Benefits Analyst, Efficiencies Analyst, or Business Analyst.
* Experience building and maintaining dashboards or reporting tools (e.g., Power BI, Tableau, or advanced Excel).
* Clear communication skills; ability to explain complex analysis to non-technical audiences.
* Self-motivation and adaptability; able to work independently and as part of a team.
* Experience producing guidance, toolkits, or frameworks to support colleagues.
* Ability to work with people from diverse backgrounds and cultures and promote diversity considerations in work.
* Willingness to undertake development opportunities and training.


Location, travel, and working patterns

* Hybrid working location; EA base location with nationwide scope.
* Some travel and overnight stays may be required.
