BAM UK&I is seeking an EDMS Team Leader based in our Hemel Hempstead office.
Your mission
We are looking for an experienced Team Lead with a strong mix of management and technical skills, known for a proactive, logical, and customer-focused approach to problem-solving and operational excellence. The EDMS team is crucial across all phases of the application lifecycle—planning, implementation, and support—delivering and maintaining BAM’s document management systems across the UK & Ireland. As a hands-on Team Lead, you will lead and develop the team to ensure high-quality service delivery, while actively supporting incident resolution and technical challenges.
Main responsibilities
1. Line management of a 2nd/3rd line technical team.
2. Managing workloads and enhancing the quality and efficiency of the team’s service.
3. Communicating with customers and managing escalations with outsourced partners.
4. Monitoring ticket quality and continuously improving team performance.
5. Serving as an escalation point for incidents, problems, and service requests.
6. Assisting in creating and managing customer and technical documentation.
7. Training, mentoring, and developing team members.
8. Collaborating with various IT teams for effective cooperation.
9. Improving processes, procedures, and practices, promoting new techniques, technologies, or tools where appropriate.
10. Providing customer-focused technical support, which may include some out-of-hours work.
Who are we looking for?
The essential requirements include:
* At least 5 years of leadership experience in a technical delivery team.
* A customer-first mindset with a strong background in customer service.
* Hands-on experience supporting COTS or SaaS applications.
* Ability to manage team workloads aligned with organizational priorities.
* Experience managing BAU projects and operational support, including planning, resource management, and stakeholder communication.
* Familiarity with Agile methodologies (Scrum, Kanban) and working in multi-functional Agile teams.
* A proactive, solutions-oriented approach to technical and process challenges.
* Excellent communication skills, capable of explaining complex technical concepts clearly.
* Strong interpersonal skills and a collaborative, customer-focused attitude.
Nice-to-have skills include:
* ITIL Foundation certification.
* Scrum Master certification.
* Experience with document management systems like OpenText Extended ECM, SharePoint, Autodesk Construction Cloud, etc.
