Location: Ground Floor, Loxley House, Station Street, Nottingham NG2 3NG. Working hours: 37 per week. Hybrid working available. Salary: £32,579 (Level 1) rising to £35,412 per annum pro rata for part-time.
About the Role
We have two full-time posts available. As a Personal Advisor, you will work with young people who are leaving or have left care, developing plans to help them transition successfully into adulthood. You will provide practical and emotional support, give high-quality advice and guidance, and link young people to more specialised support where appropriate, enabling them to develop independence skills for life. Personal Advisors will have case-holding responsibility and support Children in Care and Care Leavers both within and outside of Nottingham City. A commitment to multi-agency working to support the progress and safety of young people is key. You will be highly organised and a skilled communicator, capable of building effective working relationships with a variety of young people from different backgrounds.
About You
The ideal candidate will have:
* Knowledge of childcare legislation, including Leaving Care and Unaccompanied Asylum-Seeking Children.
* Commitment to child-centred practice and understanding of child protection issues.
* Case-holding experience.
* Ability to record efficiently, keep records up to date, and produce concise, literate assessments, plans and reports.
* Understanding of safeguarding for children, young people and vulnerable adults.
* Full driving licence and access to a vehicle, with willingness to travel inside and outside the City Council boundary as required; mileage allowance is 45p per mile. May require use of pool cars for longer distances and business insurance if using own car.
* DBS enhanced check for a regulated activity is required for this post.

Responsibilities
Provide practical and emotional support to care leavers, develop transition plans, and connect young people with appropriate services. Maintain case records, prepare assessments and reports, and collaborate with multi-agency partners to safeguard and support progress of young people.
