Lead Theatre Practitioner – Anaesthetics/Recovery
Fairfield Independent Hospital (St Helens). 37.5 Hours & Permanent. Salary: Up to £48,000.00 per year (depending on level of experience, training and qualification).
Responsibilities
* Lead the delivery of high-quality, patient-centred care across the perioperative pathway, acting as a specialist or functional lead within the team.
* Ensure that all patient safety checks, including WHO surgical safety processes, are carried out in accordance with hospital policy.
* Provide day-to-day leadership and supervision for theatre practitioners and support staff, fostering a culture of professionalism, compassion, and accountability.
* Act as an advocate for patients, ensuring their rights, safety, and dignity are upheld at all times.
* Apply all relevant legislation, policies, and procedures to theatre operations, ensuring adherence to professional and regulatory standards.
* Work collaboratively with anaesthetists, surgeons, recovery staff, and wider hospital teams to ensure effective patient flow and continuity of care.
Qualifications
* Demonstrated clinical leadership experience and ability to act as a role model to peers.
* Strong understanding of patient safety protocols, safeguarding, infection control, and clinical governance.
* Scrub Practitioner or Surgical First Assistant qualification [for scrub leads].
* ENB 998 and/or mentorship course.
* Approved / recognised anaesthetic course.
* ILS.
* Excellent communication, organisation, and mentoring skills.
* Commitment to personal development and supporting the development of others.
