Diagnostic Vehicle Technician required for Main Dealer in Belfast
1. Salary: £34,000 basic + £36,000 OTE
2. Job Type: Full-time, Permanent
3. Hours: Monday to Friday (overtime available)
We are working with a well-established and highly reputable Main Dealership in the Belfast area that is currently looking for an experienced Diagnostic Vehicle Technician to join their team. This role is ideal for a technician with advanced diagnostic skills who is looking for a new challenge and the opportunity to work in a modern, well-equipped workshop.
Responsibilities of a Diagnostic Technician
4. Perform advanced diagnostics and fault-finding using manufacturer and third-party diagnostic tools
5. Carry out complex repairs on electrical and mechanical systems
6. Support junior technicians and offer guidance when needed
7. Accurately complete job cards and technical reports
8. Liaise with service advisors and workshop control to ensure timely repairs
9. Keep up to date with the latest technical bulletins and manufacturer training
Requirements for a Diagnostic Technician:
10. Level 3 qualification in Vehicle Maintenance and Repair (City & Guilds or NVQ equivalent)
11. Proven experience in diagnostic work within a main dealer or reputable independent workshop
12. Strong understanding of electrical systems, ECU fault tracing, and CAN bus networks
13. Experience using diagnostic platforms (e.g., Bosch, Snap-on, Autologic, or OEM-specific systems)
14. EV/Hybrid certification – highly desirable
15. MOT Tester status – beneficial but not essential
16. Excellent communication and problem-solving skills
17. Full UK Driving Licence
