Process Engineer – BAE Systems
Location: Radway Green (On Site) | Salary: £43,649 | Closing date: 23rd October
What You’ll Be Doing
* Develop new manufacturing processes in line with Engineering Plans and Budgets, ensuring solutions are robust, timely, cost‑effective and meet Customer expectations.
* Ensure that manufacturing processes comply with industry standard controls for long‑term stability, including Lean Principles, Process Control Plans, PFMEAs, and awareness of Programmable Logic Controls and Visual Management Systems on automated lines.
* Specify and qualify new equipment, working closely with suppliers to meet tight deadlines and ensuring all process equipment meets regulatory and safety standards.
* Coordinate development activities to establish supporting data that bases processes on a sound understanding of materials and technology adopted for plant and equipment.
* Manage a project data file capturing process and design information, including trials data, process definition (drawings and specifications), certification and safety data, controlled through the company’s Product Lifecycle Management system.
* Support project activities, including process reviews, capability studies and Safe System of Work.
* Present to line management and other stakeholders (verbal and written) on topics relating to process status within development or production (e.g., KPIs).
Essential Qualifications
* Minimum HNC / HND in Mechanical, Electrical, Manufacturing or equivalent; time served in an engineering discipline.
* Strong technical and manufacturing base, initiative, and ability to work under pressure.
* Excellent time‑management, prioritising variable workload while maintaining high quality standards and meeting deadlines.
* Capability to produce written/visual instructions (SOPs, RA’s).
* Experience and demonstrated knowledge of materials processing.
* IOSH Managing Safety / NEBOSH Certificate.
* Exposure to a medium/high volume manufacturing environment.
