We are looking to recruit a Care Advocate to join us at HavenCourt. You will hold an NVQ level 2 in Health & Social Care and/or haveexperience working in the care of older people, re-ablement sevices and/orthose with dementia.
About theHome: We are aninnovatively designed and purpose-built, Nursing Home. We specialise in residential and nursingcare, dementia care and re-enablement. We aim to provide the highest quality ofhealth and social care services to residents who live across South Tyneside. We are convenientlylocated on Harton Lane, South Shields.

Main duties of the job
You will have practical experience of implementing personcentred care and have effective communication and problem solving skills. Youwill be caring and compassionate in your approach, be able to work calmly underpressure and have a strong commitment to respecting the rights of the residentsat all times.
Youwill be flexible to meet the needs of the service and be able to meet therequirements of the shift pattern which includes a combination of long days,earlies, lates and rotation onto nightshift. The roster covers 7 days of theweek, 24 hours per day. Full time, part time and flexible working is availableand consideration would be given to a predominately night shift working rosterif requested. Your training and developmental learning needs will be supported.

Asa Care Advocate, the postholder will provide direct, individualised care to serviceusers, promoting a caring environment for through high standards ofprofessional practice that will be conducive to the needs of the individuals,their carers and families.
Thepostholder will ensure that each service user receives care appropriate totheir individual needs and implement and exceed the requirements of thestandards agreed, legislative requirements, and relevant regulations and inline with accepted best practices and company Policies and Procedures.

Qualifications & Experience
* NVQ 2 in Health and Social Care or equivalent.
* Previous experience in care work.
* Ability to promote positive physical, mental health and wellbeing.
* Evidence of continuous professional development.
* Experience in working in a care environment with older people and dementia.
* Care Certificate.
