Eastfield House - Monday to Friday, circa 6am to 2pm daily, 37 hours per week full time.
We are seeking a Recycling Refuse Driver/Loader to drive collection vehicles. Candidates must have an up-to-date HGV Qualification, CPC, and Tacho Digicard.
As a Recycling Refuse Driver, you will lead the daily collection team as the driver of the vehicles for that day. You will need to carry out daily maintenance checks and be responsible for both the vehicle and crew.
You will have complete direction of the team working on the collection rounds, resolving issues and problems as they arise to ensure service delivery. This involves reporting relevant issues to the Recycling Waste Managers.
You will be responsible for using the in-cab data system to record events/issues and ensuring the completion of the allocated round each day. All relevant paperwork must be completed accurately.
When acting as a Refuse/Recycling loader, you will load waste onto the collection vehicle following safe working practices. You will collect household waste, work as part of a crew, and be polite, helpful, and comfortable working outdoors in all weather conditions. You should be able to lift heavy loads regularly.
You must be able to make decisions on waste acceptance, undertake risk assessments with the driver, and be aware of health and safety regulations related to manual handling. Good communication skills are essential for interacting with your crew and the public.
You should follow instructions, conduct yourself professionally, and adhere to Health and Safety guidelines. PPE will be provided.
