The Role – R&D Engineer
We have an excellent opportunity for an ambitious R&D Engineer to join a prominent aerospace engineering business in Gloucestershire.
This is an in-depth hands-on role contributing to the satisfactory design, analysis, development, testing, and qualification of aerospace products.
You’ll be joining a fantastic team in a purpose-built modern facility where you’ll be able to make a real impact to the future of the business.
This position would be a great fit for an associate level engineer to further progress in their career.
Duties – R&D Engineer
* Contributing to the development of Electro-mechanical, Electro-hydraulic and Mechatronic control components/ and components.
* Mathematical modelling with MathCAD, MatLab/Simulink, FEA
* 3D design and 2D drawing creation of concept ideas.
* Research into aerospace materials and their properties
* Develop understanding of common machining and fabrication processes
* Development of assembly techniques
* Development of qualification test methods
* Compilation of clear and concise analysis and test reports
* Presenting technical details to the customers at all levels
Background – R&D Engineer
* Degree or HNC in a relevant engineering discipline.
* Design competency (Preferably Siemens NX or similar)
* Experience with analysis tools such as MathCAD, MatLab and FEA
* Appreciation of different manufacturing techniques (Machining, assembly, testing)
* Team player with strong communication skills
