Bank Speech & Language Therapist

We are a large and dynamic Speech and Language Therapy service of around 100 staff, working across all service areas in Derbyshire. This opportunity has arisen in the childrens team and we are looking for an enthusiastic and experienced BANK speech and language therapist. The role will also provide a clinical service to children and young people with a range of communication difficulties in a variety of settings, including education settings, nurseries, clinics and clients homes.
Main duties of the job
* Work with children who have a wide range of speech, language, communication and eating and drinking needs.
* Provide clinical services to children and young people with communication difficulties across various settings.
* Be HCPC registered and maintain professional competence.
* Be mobile between locations and provide high-quality, evidence-based practice.
* Provide leadership and support within the SLT service.
* Collaborate with a friendly team of SLTs, SLPs and SLTAs, receive line management, clinical supervision and CPD.

Person Specification
Education and qualifications
* HCPC registered
* Recognised degree in speech and language therapy
* Membership of relevant CEN
Experience and Knowledge
* In-depth knowledge of appropriate assessment and therapeutic interventions for the role.
* Experience of assessing children with SLCN.
* Experience in working with children with SLCN.
* Experience of supervising students and assistants.
Skills and Attributes
* Excellent interpersonal skills.
* Demonstrates analytical and reflection skills.
* Good presentation skills both written and verbal.
* Ability to understand and apply capacity/demand issues in service area and prioritise caseload, explain rationale for decision making to others.
* Able to work as part of MDT.
* Adaptable to change.
* Enjoys problem solving and developing new ways of working.
Additional requirement
* Access to transport and ability to travel efficiently across the locations.
