Key Responsibilities
* Carry out general repairs and upkeep of the school premises, including minor plumbing, carpentry, and electrical tasks. You\'ll be proficient with a wide range of hand and power tools (e.g., drills, saws, sanders) and be able to interpret technical drawings.
* Ensure the school\'s security at all times by locking and unlocking the site, monitoring CCTV and alarm systems, and controlling access for staff and visitors.
* Uphold the highest standards of health and safety by performing regular risk assessments, ensuring compliance with legislation, and safely using and storing all equipment.
* Assist with basic grounds maintenance (e.g., using lawnmowers, strimmers) and provide essential support services, such as assisting with deliveries and setting up for school events.
* Provide support to teaching staff and assist with the organisation and supervision of school trips and events, ensuring the site is ready for all school activities.
Person Specification:
* Proven experience in building maintenance and repair.
* Proficiency in using a wide range of hand and power tools.
* Ability to read and interpret basic technical drawings and diagrams.
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
* Proven ability to work independently and as part of a team.
* Good time management and organisational skills.
* Flexibility to work occasional evenings and weekends for school events.
* Commitment to child safety and well-being.
* Basic IT skills.
* GCSEs (or equivalent) in English and Maths.
* Relevant trade qualifications (e.g., plumbing, carpentry) are desirable.
* A First Aid qualification and experience working in an educational setting are desirable.
