Job Description
What You'll Be Doing
3. Own and deliver the technical vision, engineering roadmap, and product strategy.
4. Collaborate with executives and stakeholders to ensure technical feasibility of new product concepts.
5. Lead the development, testing, and prototyping of innovative new products.
6. Support legacy product improvements and provide technical leadership across production activities.
7. Oversee system architecture, technical design, scalability, and performance optimisation.
8. Drive best-in-class engineering practices, DFM/DFA principles, and quality compliance.
9. Support technical sales activities, including customer meetings, quotations, and product specifications.
10. Champion continuous improvement, innovation, and emerging technology adoption.
11. Lead, develop, and mentor a high-performing engineering team, promoting collaboration and inclusion
The Successful Applicant
What We're Looking For
12. 10+ years' experience in product and mechanical design, ideally within electro-mechanical engineering.
13. Proven leadership in product development and technical strategy.
14. Strong 3D CAD skills (SolidWorks preferred) and ability to create technical drawings.
15. Knowledge of DFM/DFA principles and experience with tolerance drawings and assembly instructions.
16. Ability to troubleshoot and resolve complex technical issues across hardware and electronics.
17. Hands-on, proactive approach with a "can do, will do" mindset.
18. Strong communication and collaboration skills, with the confidence to influence at SLT level.
19. Based in Cardiff (hybrid: 3 days in office, typically Tues-Thurs).
