Employing more than 1,800 people, BDUK also provides engineering sustainment and support for aircraft in service with the UK armed forces, along with virtual and instructor‑led training.
BDUK is well positioned to support the UK with its current and future defence and security challenges, leveraging its established defence business in the UK and a global "One Boeing" approach.
Opportunity
We are looking for an enthusiastic and dynamic Capture Team Lead to join Boeing’s UK Capture & Campaigns team. The primary purpose of the Capture Team Lead is to lead strategically important captures designed to deliver significant growth.
In this role you will scope, shape and qualify new business across all business areas, and lead highly complex campaigns across the Boeing portfolio – including key platforms, digital, and training – driving innovative solutions for our Defence customers. The position is hybrid, based in Bristol with 3 days per week on site.
Responsibilities
Leadership
* Lead, motivate and guide the capture team comprising multi‑disciplined individuals and teams across multiple business functions, and partner companies or contractors where relevant.
* Balance long‑term win strategy with immediate demands, keeping both aligned and informed to achieve the best win strategy effect.
Capture Strategy
* Collaborate broadly to develop the capture strategy for assigned captures.
* Achieve company buy‑in and approval for the capture strategy, including associated capability investments.
Capture Management
* Oversee solution development activities, ensuring that solution maturity matches or exceeds customer expectations throughout the capture lifecycle.
* Develop, maintain, and manage the execution of a coherent, funded, and resourced capture plan that details the implementation of win strategy while adhering to business winning policies and procedures.
Business Development & Strategy
* Support Global campaigns and Business Units to develop early engagement and understanding of horizon/pipeline deals, maturing them for strategic capture at the ideal time.
* Contribute to market and competitive analysis to understand the market for assigned captures, campaigns, and programmes.
Customer Relationships
* Build and maintain relationships at senior management level with clients, partners, and competitors, shaping customer requirements and positioning Boeing as the preferred partner.
* Prepare and support others to lead customer, partner and competitor engagement.
Qualifications
* Extensive experience as a senior member of a capture team that has driven from the early stages to a successful win of a significant contract (ideally >£50m).
* Demonstrated experience in influencing the win of major opportunities by leading capture teams within the International defence, security, and/or government sectors.
* Experience in a capture role.
* Currently holding or able to obtain a UK SC clearance.
Preferred (but not essential)
* Formal training in complex B2G sales (e.g., Shipley methodologies or equivalent).
* Defence and security experience in the UK home markets.
* Tertiary qualifications in Business Management, Project Management, or Finance.
Work Authorization
This requisition is for a locally hired position in the UK. Candidates must have current legal authorisation to work immediately in the United Kingdom. Boeing will not attempt to obtain immigration or labour sponsorship for any applicants.
Security Clearance
The position requires the ability to obtain a UK security clearance, for which the Government requires UK citizenship.
Relocation
This position does not offer relocation assistance. Candidates must live in the immediate area or relocate at their own expense.
