Teacher of Welsh
Type: Contract / Long-term Supply; Location: Powys; Start date: ASAP; Hours: Full-time; Pay: Paid to scale (MPS/UPS, dependent on experience).

Elementa Support Services is working in partnership with a supportive and forward-thinking secondary school in Powys to recruit a knowledgeable and committed Teacher of Welsh. This is an exciting opportunity to engage students through creative and inspiring lessons in a positive and inclusive learning environment.
About the Role
* Plan and deliver engaging Welsh lessons in line with the national curriculum
* Teach across KS3 and KS4 (KS5 desirable where applicable)
* Develop students’ speaking, listening, reading, and writing skills in Welsh
* Promote Welsh culture, heritage, and language development across the school community
* Create engaging and differentiated lessons that support learners of varying abilities
* Foster confidence, communication skills, and a positive attitude towards language learning
* Create a positive, inclusive, and well-managed classroom environment
* Assess, monitor, and report on student progress effectively
* Promote safeguarding, wellbeing, and positive behaviour at all times
* Contribute to departmental planning and the wider school community
What We’re Looking For
* Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
* Education Workforce Council (EWC) registration
* An Enhanced DBS on the Update Service, or willingness to apply (Elementa can assist)
* Experience teaching Welsh at secondary level (including placements)
* Strong subject knowledge and confident classroom management skills
* Fluency in spoken and written Welsh
Desirable:
* Experience teaching KS5 Welsh or Welsh Second Language
* A reflective and adaptable teaching approachA passion for promoting bilingualism and Welsh culture

* Withiut fluency in spoken and written Welsh
* Not currently based within the UK
* Requiring employer sponsorship for UK right to work
* Without UK secondary school teaching experience
