Lead Product Designer (Volunteer)
As the Lead Product Designer, you will play a pivotal leadership role in shaping and enhancing SkilledUp Life’s digital experience. The role focuses on designing Version 2 (V2) of our platform, improving user experience, visual fidelity, and overall usability. You will work closely with the Head of Product, CEO, and a distributed design team.

SkilledUp Life helps individuals gain new experiences and skills while supporting bootstrapped tech startups through volunteer mentorship. Our global community includes over 47,500 volunteers from 136 countries and we have helped over 135 tech startups worldwide.
Responsibilities
* Lead the full product design cycle from research to final delivery.
* Conduct user research to identify UX gaps and improvement opportunities.
* Create clear, intuitive design solutions and maintain design systems.
* Mentor and coordinate a small team of volunteer UI/UX designers.
* Run design reviews, delegate tasks, and track team progress.
* Audit the current platform and redesign key user journeys.
* Improve navigation, usability, accessibility, and visual hierarchy.
* Test and validate designs using feedback, analytics, and usability sessions.
* Collaborate with Product, Development, Marketing, and Leadership teams.
* Ensure smooth developer handover and maintain cohesive branding.
* Document design iterations and provide weekly progress updates.
* Deliver a final report summarizing improvements and recommendations.
Qualifications
* Fluent in English – both written and spoken.
* Proficiency in Figma (essential).
* Experience with Design Systems.
* Experience conducting user research and translating findings into user flows.
* Remote team management – ability to collaborate with developers across time zones.
* Comfortable working in Agile sprints and delivering iterative updates.
Acquired Skills and Work Experience
* Leadership experience in a global, fast‑growing tech environment.
* Portfolio of real‑world design improvements for a live SaaS platform.
* Mentorship and team coordination capabilities.
