Skin Integrity Clinical Nurse Specialist

The post holder will work with the Nurse Consultant/Lead Nurse Skin Integrity to provide a specialist Skin Integrity service, meeting the needs of patients throughout the Trust, ensuring the maintenance and development of clinical excellence.
The post also includes responsibility for providing expert knowledge and specialist advice to a wide range of professional staff and meeting the educational needs of staff involved in the management of skin integrity.
The post holder will ensure that a high level of skin integrity is achieved and maintained by informing and utilising the Trust's policies, strategies, audit processes, education and research agenda. Additionally, support the Nurse Consultant/Lead Nurse in the management of the Skin Integrity Team and deputise for the Nurse Consultant/Lead Nurse during periods of leave.

Person specification
Knowledge & Experience
* 2 years experience working within a wound care service at a Band 6 level or above
* Demonstrate a broad range of clinical experience
* Knowledge and experience in teaching theory and practical skills
* Use of specialist equipment such as Doppler, pressure‑relieving equipment, NPWT, computers
* Ability to undertake full clinical assessments of patients, including those with multiple pathology and complex health and social needs
* Awareness of the Doncaster Wound Care Alliance
* Experience contributing to research and undertaking clinical audit and evaluation
* Experience contributing to policy/pathway development and review
Qualifications & Training
* Minimum of 2 years' experience at Band 6
* Post Registration qualifications in Skin Integrity / Leg Ulceration / Complex wounds (e.g., Sharp debridement)
* Master's degree in a relevant subject
