Position Summary Consultant Cardiologist – Cardiology, 40 hours per week, Permanent. Join the dynamic anaesthetics team at the modern, purpose‑built Dumfries & Galloway Royal Infirmary. The role offers variety, clinical excellence, and an exceptional quality of life.
Responsibilities
Provide comprehensive cardiology services to a population of 148,000 across South West Scotland.
Deliver and audit brady pacing and complex device follow‑up within a forward‑thinking clinical physiology team.
Lead changes to enhance current services, contribute to key clinical changes for the new hospital, and support multidisciplinary teamwork.
Utilise full spectrum of on‑site investigative and treatment facilities including treadmill exercise testing, transthoracic and trans‑oesophageal echocardiography with Doppler, stress echocardiography, 3‑D imaging, tilt‑testing, Holter monitoring, and CT coronary angiography.
Qualifications
Consultant level in Cardiology with sub‑specialty competency in brady pacing.
Demonstrated ability to work within a multidisciplinary team.
Excellent clinical communication and patient management skills.
