Overview
At Charles Tyrwhitt our purpose is to "Make it easy for men to dress well". The People Operations Manager will oversee the effective running of the People Ops function through all aspects of the employee lifecycle, from hiring through to leaving. You will be the gatekeeper of a robust operational engine that powers the interactions our Tyrwhitteers have at work and contributes to the employee experience. You will optimize people processes to align with business goals and work closely with the People Director to enable smooth and efficient delivery of People Team support. This role is based in our Milton Keynes office, with some travel to London head office.
Responsibilities
* Accountability for People Operations, overseeing Payroll, Benefits, HR administration and the effective use of our HRIS to drive an exceptional employee experience.
* Manage and mentor the People Operations team, fostering a culture of excellence, proactivity, pragmatism and professional growth.
* Partner effectively with the broader People Team Leads by contributing towards the People Strategy and collaborating seamlessly.
* Ensure the successful running of the monthly payroll and delivery of administrative actions to the agreed SLAs.
* Maintain compliance with all legislative requirements (e.g., Pension, National Living Wage, Gender Pay reporting, Right to Work).
* Own and optimise onboarding and offboarding processes to ensure a smooth and welcoming start for new hires and an efficient departure for leavers.
* Oversee benefits administration and drive annual benefits reviews to keep the offer relevant and attractive.
* Act as custodian of all colleague data; serve as GDPR champion with a focus on robust data management compliance.
* Develop and maintain dashboards and reporting for key People metrics to enable evidence-based decision making.
Qualifications & Experience
* Sector-relevant exposure in a similar People Ops role, with a preference for retail or hospitality environments.
* Experience with UK Payroll and oversight of outsourced payrolls in other territories.
* Line management experience with coaching and mentoring to enhance performance and potential.
* Experience overseeing People Operations for countries outside the UK.
* Experience with multiple HR information systems and the ability to articulate requirements of a solid platform.
* Knowledge and demonstrable experience implementing an HRIS that supports multiple countries.
* Understanding of legislation surrounding payroll, GDPR, and other relevant laws.
* Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint), ideally at an advanced level.
* Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to convey information to diverse audiences.
* Excellent numerical ability and attention to detail to ensure accuracy in all people processes.
