Our Client, A Large Public Sector Organisation based in Limavady require a Building Control Manager to join their team.
Role : Building Control Manager
Location : Limavady Council Offices
Hours of Work : hrs ( 3 Days )
Hourly Rate : 1-12 weeks £ 13 weeks £
Main Duties :
1. The management of the Building Control function within the Health and Built Environment section, including human, physical and financial resources. This includes all matters which fall under Building Regulations legislation including the validation and processing of statutory and non-statutory fees as well as carrying out pre-application consultations, street naming and postal numbering, the processing of property certificates, dealing with dangerous structures, dilapidated buildings and neglected sites, the enforcement of energy performance of Buildings Regulations, the completion of fire risk assessments and disability access audits with respect to council buildings the co-ordination and delivery of the Energy Efficiency Advice Service and Home Accident Prevention Service, and advice to internal customers with respect to licensing where appropriate.
2. This post will have the responsibility for developing, delivering and leading statutory inspection programmes, education and the enforcement of relevant legislation.
3. Ensure that the department complies with all statutory and legislative requirements by adhering to these requirements and working in accordance with good governance and health and safety requirements.
4. Ensure that all responsibilities are carried out in a timely and effective manner and that general confidentiality is maintained in all areas relating to the work of the Council.

Essential Criteria :
5. A degree, or equivalent qualification in an appropriate building related discipline such as Architecture, Building or Civil / Structural Engineering: or
6. 1(b) Full corporate membership of an appropriate building related professional institution or association such as Chartered Association of Building Engineers; Chartered Institute of Building; Institution of Civil Engineers; Institution of Structural Engineers; Royal Institute of British Architects; Royal Institute of Chartered Surveyors (Building Surveyors Section) or equivalent.

7. Be able to demonstrate, by providing personal and specific examples, a minimum of two years' experience as a qualified Building Control Officer working in a management position to include;
8. Service planning and delivery;
9. Enforcement and administration of legislation;
10. Liaison with other organisations in the public and private sectors.

13. Street Naming and Postal numbering
14. Dangerous Structures, Dilapidated buildings and Neglected sites
15. Vacant Property Inspections for rating purposes
16. Processing of Property Certificates
17. Fire Risk assessment of all Council Buildings
18. Enforcement of Energy Performance of Buildings Regulations
19. An understanding of the issues impacting on service delivery.
20. A clear understanding of the workings of local government and the wider environment in which it operates.
21. A full current driving licence (Category B, valid in the UK) and access to a vehicle that will enable the post holder to meet the requirements of the post OR have access to a form of transport that enables you to carry out the duties of the post.
