Were looking for Clinicians that are driven to provide compassionate patient care in challenging, fast-paced, but rewarding environments.

We are looking to find likeminded healthcare professionals, to embrace new innovations to help develop and improve the delivery and management of patient centred care to our local population.

The Pharmacy Technician will join our existing pharmacy team proactively helping patients across the PCN to stay safe, well, and out of hospital whilst supporting efforts to reduce the demands placed on general practice.


Main duties of the job

As a Pharmacy Technician you will:

* Support the role of PCN Clinical Pharmacist/s in the delivery ofclinical pharmacy services
* Perform medicines improvement work to maximise safe, cost-effective bestpractice in prescribing under the supervision of the GP or Clinical Pharmacist
* Assist with medication safety monitoring systems (e.g. high-risk drugs)
* Liaise with clinicians and administrative staff to resolvemedicine-related queries
* Work as part of a multidisciplinary team to provide care to our patientswithin our local care homes.
* Monitor practice prescribing and adherence to practice, local andnational prescribing policies.
* Improve service and quality through mechanisms such as audits

Job responsibilities

The successful Pharmacy Technician will play animportant role in complementing our clinical pharmacist/s and other members ofthe PCN multi-disciplinary team.

This is an evolving job role with scope for development as weexpand our PCN team further over the years.

It is a requirement of the role to beregistered with the General Pharmaceutical Council as a PharmacyTechnician. We are seeking a pharmacy technician preferably with previousexperience of working in primary care

As a Pharmacy Technician you will:

Person Specification


Qualifications

* QUALIFICATIONS AND PROFESSIONAL REGISTRATION
* BTEC/NVQ Level 3 or equivalent in pharmaceutical sciences
* Registered with the General Pharmaceutical Council as a Pharmacy Technician
* Evidence of continued professional development (CPD)
* To either have or be prepared to undertake and complete an approved Primary Care Pharmacy Education Pathway


Experience

* Experience of working as a qualified, registered Pharmacy Technician in primary care, community, or hospital pharmacy
* Experience of prioritising work and meeting deadlines
* Able to communicate effectively and professionally both face to face and on the telephone with people at all levels
* Demonstrated high standard of written and verbal communication skills
* Knowledge and understanding of the NHS and the challenges facing Primary Care
* High attention to detail, able to work accurately and identify errors
* Able to deal with patients in a professional and compassionate manner
* Demonstrates understanding of Information Governance, Patient Confidentiality and Data Protection requirements
* Experience of the use of EMIS (clinical system)
* Experience of attending and contributing to multi-disciplinary team meetings
* Ability to analyse and interpret prescribing data
* Able to anticipate barriers and issues and take action to mitigate risks
* Previous experience of working in a primary care setting

* Time management and prioritisation skills
* Analytical and problem-solving skills
* Able to recognise personal limitations and refer to more appropriate colleagues when necessary
