Job overview

We’re looking for an experienced, passionate and motivated Registered Nurse to join our Cancer Nursing Team as a Band 6 Urology Cancer Specialist Nurse for a 9-month term. Based primarily within York this is your chance to play a vital role in delivering exceptional cancer care.

The main duties of the role are:

5. Continuing responsibility for the assessment of care needs, the development, implementation, and evaluation of programmes of care and the setting of standards of care.
6. Provide specialist nursing care and advice to a specific patient group and will contribute to the development of the specialty service and supporting the team to work to this high standard.
7. participate in cross-site working as determined by needs of the service

Qualifications

Essential criteria

15. Registered Nurse (Level 1)
16. Diploma level education of equivalent
17. Recognised teaching/ assessing qualification

Desirable criteria

18. Post registration qualification in specialty
19. Working towards degree or equivalent
20. Non-medical prescriber - as determined by the needs of the service

Experience

Essential criteria

21. Experience at Band 5 or equivalent ideally within a relevant speciality
22. Audit & Standard setting

Desirable criteria

23. Service development and/ or change management

Training

Essential criteria

24. Evidence of continued professional development
25. Willing to undergo training as necessary
