Job description
Wivelsfield Primary School and Nursery is looking for an enthusiastic Leader of Outdoor Learning and Forest School for approximately 9 hours per week. The pattern of working hours is negotiable. If you have a love of the outdoors and enjoy working with children, this could be the job for you.
Situated in the heart of Wivelsfield Green, near both Haywards Heath and Burgess Hill, the school is single‑form entry with a nursery. The school benefits from spacious modern premises with extensive grounds, including a dedicated forest‑school area, pond, gardening plots, and access to adjoining fields.
Responsibilities:
* Lead Outdoor Learning and Forest School activities for primary and nursery children.
* Plan and deliver suitable forest‑school programmes.
* Provide support for nursery sessions and occasional after‑school club if qualified.
* Run holiday activities on site as a freelance provider if qualified.
Qualifications and experience:
* Recognised Forest School qualification (or willingness to be trained).
* Experience working with children, preferably in primary or nursery settings.
* Ability to work part‑time, term‑time only.
Childcare Disqualification Regulations 2018
This post is covered by the Childcare Disqualification Regulations 2018. The school will need to ensure that it is not knowingly employing a person who is disqualified under the 2018 Regulations in connection with relevant childcare provision. Accordingly, the successful candidate will be required to demonstrate by completing a self‑declaration form that they have not been disqualified. If a preferred candidate is found to be disqualified, the offer of employment will be subject to a waiver from Ofsted.
