Overview
Sedgemoor Manor School are recruiting for a 1:1 Teaching Assistant to join our Education team now. We are looking for versatile, resilient and committed people who can adapt their practice to support across all key stages. The successful candidate will work alongside the class teacher, assisting the children with their work and supporting pupil behaviour while establishing good relationships with pupils, acting as a role model and responding to individual needs.

Sedgemoor Manor is a specialist day school for young people who have needs associated with a diagnosis on the autistic spectrum/SPLD and are aged between 10 and 18 years. Our tailored approach means we are able to support young people with a wide range of learning difficulties. About you
* You will be a key member of our education support team, working as part of a specialist team of Teachers and Therapists to deliver personalised curriculum packages that motivate and inspire our students.
* Experience as a Teaching Assistant would be useful, but as long as you have the communication and caring skills required for this role and a willingness to learn, we will give you all the training and development you need to succeed.
* While not essential, experience of supporting children with SLD and complex needs would be an advantage.
* Successful candidates will contribute to the effective implementation of individual programmes by supporting the teaching and learning, social and independence activities and experiences, which enhance the learning and development of children and young people.
* You must also be able to demonstrate a high degree of emotional resilience and the ability to remain calm under pressure.
