The Role
We're recruiting for a CNC Programmer with strong experience in both online and offline programming of 3 to 5 axis milling machines. This is a full-time, permanent position based on-site, reporting directly to the Manufacturing Engineering Manager.
Key Responsibilities
Program 3 to 5 axis milling machines using the most efficient and cost-effective methods
Optimise both new and legacy CNC programs
Support machining technicians to ensure safe, high-quality, and efficient part delivery
Maintain program infrastructure in line with AS9100D standards
Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives and waste reduction
Design and implement versatile fixturing solutions
Optimise tool life and introduce advanced tooling and cutting techniques
Collaborate with manufacturing engineers to plan and deliver the best manufacturing methods
What We're Looking For
Strong background in CNC machining within a precision engineering environment
High-level programming skills in Fanuc and Heidenhain controls
Experience in both turning and milling, ideally up to 5 axis (3+2)
Proficiency in 3D modelling (SolidWorks and VISI preferred)
Offline programming experience, ideally with VISI CAM
Solid understanding of tooling, fixtures, and lean manufacturing principles
Additional Responsibilities
Deliver proven programs ahead of production schedules to maximise spindle uptime
Support New Product Introduction (NPI) projects
Produce accurate setup sheets and tooling logs
Assist with non-conformance investigations
Provide daily problem-solving support to machining technicians
Create CNC/CADCAM programs for turning and milling, including 4 & 5 axis machines
