The post holder will operationally manage and lead designated areas of responsibility within the Division and will in the course of their duties be responsible for:

• The delivery of effective Performance Management, Service and Financial Framework Targets, Communication andInformation Governance for the designated area of responsibility.

• Line management of staff involving recruitment, appraisal, CPD and performance.

• Consulting with other senior managers and professionals to ensure the effective delivery of a safe and effective carewithin designated areas of responsibility within the Division.

• Leading on the development of designated business cases.

• Lead on Performance Management and support the Divisional Manager in effectively managing the patient pathwayperformance and service improvement within a division.

• Interpret and implement national guideline to ensure effective delivery of clinical services within areas of responsibilityas well as interpret national policy relating to patient pathway and access targets and make recommendations to theDivision on changes to ensure compliance.

Main duties of the job

Responsible for daily delivery of designated services, including policy development and establishment control.

Lead capacity planning using activity and waiting list data to support service and workforce planning.

Ensure effective use of staff and facilities; lead business cases where required. Drive continuous service review aligned to the IMTP and lead improvement projects.

Communicate complex, sensitive issues and manage formal complaints.

Lead divisional performance delivery, develop Pharmacy KPIs and reporting structures, and ensure accurate data in collaboration with Information teams.

Provide specialist guidance on sensitive matters and ensure data quality standards are upheld.

Analyse performance to identify improvements and respond to urgent Pharmacy issues.

Develop and implement sustainable service improvements using appropriate tools.

Engage staff to modernise processes, embed best practice, and reduce validation demands. Support pathway design and the IMTP to inform workforce planning.

Line manage staff, ensuring recruitment, CPD, appraisal, and performance management. Conduct skills assessments and training.

Act as budget holder, identifying efficiencies and using data to support decision-making.

Produce performance reports and support strategic planning. Lead benchmarking and research to improve service efficiency and outcomes

1. Degree or equivalent experience at senior management level within the NHS
2. Service Improvement qualification (Silver) or working towards

The postholder will have access to vulnerable people in the course of their normal duties and as such this post is subject to the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974 (Exceptions) Order 1975 (Amendment) (England and Wales) Order 2020 and as such it will be necessary for a submission for Disclosure to be made to the Disclosure and Barring Service to check for any previous criminal convictions.
