To ensure the Clinical auditor services is delivered safely, consistently and to an appropriate standard, meeting all Licensing requirements with NHS Digital. The post holder will act as clinical resource to staff and undertake management of the Clinical workforce in addition to the active participation in quality audit. You will be responsible for all Clinical Auditors Team across all 3 sites and will be expected to visit these sites.
Main duties of the job
As a Clinical Lead within South Central Ambulance Service you will be required to provide leadership to your team to ensure the effective provision of the service they provide and to champion change in the organisation. You will ensure that your staff are motivated and express a positive attitude towards the organisation. You will address any issues and concerns that may inhibit your staff from achieving both their personal and organisational goals.
To work as an autonomous practitioner to support other practitioners within the team using knowledge, skills, critical thinking and professional judgement.
To manage and investigate disputes and discrepancies within Clinical Audit.
To liaise and communicate clinical information verbally and via technical links, with department leads
To maintain and ensure clinical safety and maintenance of a high-quality service to those patients who call our services:
To work towards IWP targets, clinical Audit targets, and national and locally negotiated targets.

Corporate Induction

All new starters need to attend our *Corporate Induction in person, this is held over one and half days from our educational centres based in: Newbury (Berkshire), Bicester (Oxfordshire) or Whiteley (Hampshire). More specific details will be sent to you once your start date has been confirmed.

Detailed job description and main responsibilities
To attend and actively participate in regular management meetings and work with the line manager to improve and / or consistently maintain performance of the team.
To ensure continued professional development through mandatory training and within personal development plans.
To provide clinical and professional expertise as required to call centre colleagues.
To support and participate in the provision of core training where appropriate.
To review, evaluate and recommend revisions of clinical assessment software.
To operate within all local and national policies, procedures and protocols provided.
To comply with Clinical Governance standards and to ensure continuous development of a quality service.
To adhere to your Professional code of conduct at all times.
To maintain professional standards and representation of South-Central Ambulance Service Trust both internally and externally.
To manage Clinical Educator/Auditors daily. This includes responsibility for recruitment, attendance management, performance management and appraisal.
To plan and resource appropriate quality audit to ensure all targets are achieved, including covering unexpected events such as sickness, short term/emergency leave etc.

Qualifications
Essential criteria
* Recognised professional qualification, e.g. registered general nurse (RN1, RNA), ECP or Paramedic
* Valid registration with NMC / HPC
Knowledge

* Managed a team
* Recent Clinical Experience
* Vast Experience and Knowledge of the NHS Pathways triage system
* Extensive Clinical Knowledge
* NHS Pathways Audit, evaluation experience
* Recent clinical governance experience
Desirable criteria
* Accredited NHS Pathways Trainer
* Knowledge of our CAD and our Adastra system
