About the role
Our Kent Domestic Abuse Service is looking for a Support Officer to join our dynamic team in Folkestone. The role of Support Officer is challenging yet rewarding, providing a wide range of support to vulnerable individuals and families who have experienced domestic abuse.
Responsibilities
* Help families stay safe from abuse
* Enable access to welfare benefits and assistance with debt
* Provide emotional support to clients
* Help clients seek and apply for more permanent housing
* Work alongside colleagues in supported housing or outreach services across Kent
Qualifications & skills
* Experience in the housing and support sector (preferred but not mandatory)
* Professionalism, empathy, and understanding of client needs
* Life experience that enhances ability to support customers
* Desire to develop knowledge and skills to support customers best
