Job Description NPD Designer - Floristry Alconbury Monday – Friday, full time permanent Up to £40,000 DOE The NPD Floristry Designer plays a vital role in delivering both New Product Development (NPD) and Existing Product Development (EPD) projects. This position focuses on designing innovative, high-quality floristry ranges that align with customer needs and overall business strategy. The role involves taking ownership of a portfolio of development customers, with a strong emphasis on NPD account management and creating designs that are both creative and commercially manufacturable. In addition, the role contributes to driving operational excellence, ensuring the smooth running of the NPD function, and collaborating effectively across teams to deliver high-quality product launches. This position is ideal for someone with a passion for design and product development, who is eager to bring fresh, exciting products to market while continuing to develop their creative and organisational skills. Key Responsibilities: Deliver high-quality, innovative designs for NPD and EPD projects aligned with customer and business strategies Interpret design briefs and contribute creative ideas to meet commercial objectives Manage projects from concept to production, including timelines, critical paths, and deliverables Own and complete gate sheets and ensure all development documentation is accurate and on time Collaborate with Senior Designers and cross-functional teams to ensure successful project outcomes Lead bouquet development for allocated customers, maintaining high creative and quality standards Prepare and present samples, concepts, and range reviews to customers and internal stakeholders Support feasibility reviews, packaging development, and ensure products are production-ready Maintain NPD tools, studio organisation, materials, and sample trackers for efficient workflow Stay informed on market trends and provide proactive, creative solutions to support customer needs The Ideal Candidate: Essential: Experience in product design or development, ideally within FMCG or a customer-focused environment. Floristry experience highly desirable. Creative mindset with understanding of design and development processes. Strong organisational and time management skills with ability to manage multiple priorities. Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal. Proficiency in Microsoft Office and willingness to learn relevant design or project management tools. Delivers consistently high standards and takes accountability. Adapts to challenges with a solution-focused approach. Desirable: Experience within floristry, horticulture, gifting, or similar sectors. Awareness of packaging development, artwork processes, and sample production. Understanding of category insights and consumer trends.
