The Role & Key Responsibilities Job Title: Export Shipping Coordinator Location: Rugeley, Staffordshire, UK Contract: Full time, Permanent – Monday to Friday, 8:30 am to 5:00 pm, with occasional presence at the Fradley site as required. About the role: As an Export Shipping Coordinator at AB Agri, based in Rugeley, you will be a key part of the export operations team, ensuring the smooth processing of export orders and the accurate preparation of shipping and customs documentation. This role involves close collaboration with internal teams, hauliers, customs agents, and veterinary services to coordinate transport and compliance for international shipments, with a particular focus on the Irish market and growing European trade. You will manage daily export activities, assist with health and veterinary certificates, and support customs procedures. Working in a demanding environment, you will be expected to demonstrate strong attention to detail, proactivity, and excellent communication skills, this position offers a valuable opportunity to develop your expertise in international logistics within a supportive and expanding agribusiness. What you'll be doing: Process export orders, arrange transport and veterinary appointments, and create accurate shipping and customs documentation. Liaise closely with hauliers, customs agents, and internal teams to ensure smooth and compliant export operations. Prepare and submit health and veterinary certificates, including processing for Irish shipments, ensuring adherence to regulatory requirements. Monitor export schedules and shipment progress, proactively addressing any delays or issues to maintain timely deliveries. Use Excel and other reporting tools to generate operational reports and support data-driven decision-making. Communicate clearly and professionally with customers, freight forwarders, and stakeholders to provide updates and resolve export-related queries. Collaborate with the export team to identify and implement process improvements that enhance efficiency and accuracy. Support and assist the export vet on scheduled days to facilitate smooth export procedures. Participate in ongoing training to deepen knowledge of export documentation, customs regulations, and industry best practices. What we're looking for: Proven experience in export coordination or international logistics, ideally within agribusiness or related industries. (Desirable) Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage export documentation, customs procedures, and shipment scheduling independently. (Essential) Excellent communication skills in English are essential; additional language skills, particularly Irish or European languages, are a plus. Initiative-taking and confident in building relationships with internal teams, hauliers, customs agents, and external partners. (Essential) Ability to work effectively across multiple sites, with a valid driving license and access to a car. (Essential) Meticulous with a thorough understanding of export compliance, veterinary and health certificates, and customs regulations. (Desirable) Willingness to learn and develop export knowledge, with the potential to grow into a senior role within the wider agribusiness group.
