About the Role
RIBA is a global professional membership body driving excellence in architecture. With a Royal Charter, we serve our members and society in order to deliver better buildings and places, stronger communities and a sustainable environment. Being inclusive, ethical, environmentally aware and collaborative underpins all that we do.Our purpose is to make the future a better place, advancing architecture and the built environment for the benefit of society. We do this by championing and celebrating excellence in design, fostering innovation, and promoting sustainability. We also advocate for the highest standards of professionalism and ethical conduct.
Our role in helping architects to solve new challenges and respond to change has never been more timely or important. Our members continue to contend with a myriad of challenges, from fee pressures and insurance complexities to the task of delivering a low carbon future. But we represent and support a resilient profession; one that bounced back from the pandemic, with revenue increasing amongst Chartered Practices and a return to a long-term trajectory of modest growth.
We are seeking to appoint our new Executive Director, Membership Experience at a key time then, as we continue to evolve and pursue membership growth both here in the UK, and in international markets. We are looking for an outstanding leader with the experience, credentials and energy to lead and develop the function in support of sustainable, international membership growth, strong financial performance and a culture of continuous improvement in which excellence is the goal. This is a strategic leadership role in a complex stakeholder and provider landscape, across which you will be required to inspire and elicit outstanding contributions from colleagues, volunteers and strategic partners alike, whilst contributing to the broader development of RIBA as a member of the Executive Team.
You will be a strategic leader and outstanding communicator who will push boundaries on all fronts, championing and delivering on diversity and taking our membership experience to the next level through innovation and the smart use of digital, data and technology. We’re looking for dynamism, energy, ambition and creativity. In return, you will take pride in the continuing development of a fascinating and important profession.
If this sounds like the opportunity for you, we look forward to hearing from you.
