About the role
As a Complex Care Support Worker, you will provide high-quality care and support to a 20-year-old man who lives with his caring family in Myddle near Shrewsbury. He is a college student who enjoys days out, motor racing, other sports, and watching films. He needs assistance with personal care/continence needs, medication, PEG feeding, light meal preparation, and activities mainly inside the home. These include helping him get ready for college and supporting him on his return. He lives with Cerebral Palsy and Epilepsy (controlled by medication). He uses a manual wheelchair, a full ceiling track hoist, and the home is fully equipped to support him to the highest standard.
You will work with a friendly and supportive team of professionals who will help you develop your skills and knowledge in complex care. You will also have the opportunity to build a trusting and respectful relationship with the gentleman and his family, who are very hands-on and helpful. Your support will include activities in and outside the home, depending on his condition and preferences.
A Registered Nurse will support competency assessment and ongoing supervision.
Benefits for the Role
* Excellent rates of pay: Weekdays - £13.60 per hour.
* Hours and Shifts: 07:15-09:15 Monday to Friday and Monday and Tuesday afternoons 15:30-17:30. No weekends at present. This schedule is ideal for someone seeking part-time hours.

Skills and Qualifications required for the role
To succeed, you should be kind, caring, and patient. Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with a flexible and positive attitude, is essential. Good attention to detail and observation skills are important to recognize when the gentleman is in pain or needs assistance. Experience supporting individuals with complex care needs is preferred, but training and supervision will be provided.
You will need to work every other weekend as part of your rota.
