The successful candidate will be required to analyse samples submitted to the main laboratory according to site procedures as well as to keep the Senior Chemist, Laboratory Manager and Site Management of any abnormal results, collaborate across departments, communicating their own work to internal customers and to record the results in the internal SAP systems, and keep them in a well organised filing system.
Duties/Responsibilities:
To always adhere to Health & Safety rules and compliance with relevant regulations, promptly flagging non-conformances.
Maintain calibration records.
Ensure accurate performance of laboratory equipment and report issues where they arise.
Book and analyse samples submitted to the laboratory according to set priorities.
Assist other team members in the completion of priority work.
Accurately record data in SAP and any relevant digital or physical systems.
Promptly communicate results to the appropriate internal customers.
Collaborate across local, national and global Tradebe teams for operational and project work.
Produce reports and assist in company projects as required.
Liaise with internal and external laboratories where required.
Ensure confidentiality of all information to which they are party.
Perform all other reasonable duties and tasks as requested.

Do you have what it takes?
Essential - HNC / BSc Chemistry, equivalent experience (qualifications or in another science are considered).
Desirable - Laboratory experience in waste or water analysis (not essential as training will be provided).
Desirable - Knowledge of the Waste Frame Directive/experience on analysis of hazardous waste (not essential as training will be provided).
