Full-time Description The Playgroup Leader provides literacy-based caregiver child playgroup, coordinates caregiver education workshops and family engagement activities. The goal of Coordinated Family and Community Engagement programs is to provide child development services, resources to families with young children 0-6 years of age, early literacy and child development, collaboration between local early education and care partners, transition between early education and care setting, foster connection between home and school, and to create high quality programs and service delivery area. This is a grant funded program through the Department of Early Education and Care. This is a 30 hour per week, benefit eligible position. Requirements Job Responsibilities Plans and facilitates caregiver-child literacy-based Play and Learn, STEAM, On Our Way to School, and We, You, Me social emotional learning groups Plans monthly activities and curriculum themes for all groups Works with families to identify their needs and goals to link them to services and opportunities, then makes referrals to other services and community resources as needed. Promotes and facilitates Ages and Stages Questionnaire to families including inputting and maintaining the ASQ database Provides families with child development information, transition information and support, and referral to community resources Provides high quality, specific, and up to date information on early education and care programs and referrals · Provides family literacy and school readiness opportunities · Coordinates caregiver education workshops and series to reflect the changing needs and challenges young children and families experience Attends and participates in meetings, trainings, and opportunities provided by EEC as applicable to work Plays a key role in grant application and amendment activities Collects and inputs monthly data for all caregiver education, family referrals, and group attendance in accordance with EEC data requirements Qualifications Associate in Early Childhood Education or related field; bachelor’s degree preferred Minimum of three years’ experience working in the early childhood field Ability to drive day and evening; lift 50 pounds and carry programmatic materials as necessary Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation Flex schedule as necessary to accommodate training and meeting required by the funder Bilingual preferred, especially in Spanish, Portuguese, and Haitian Creole Salary Description starts at $19.23
