What You'll Do
As Finance Manager you will be reporting into the Finance Controller, and you will oversee and process all aspects of the company's financial activities – from payroll, sales and purchase ledger to preparation of management accounts. You will also be responsible for leading a team consisting of a Credit Controller and two Finance Assistants.
Financial Reporting & Compliance
* Take ownership of accurate and timely monthly management accounts preparation and close
* Process multi-entity year-end accounts, and provide support for the annual audit
* Quarterly VAT returns and monthly US sales tax returns
Operational Finance
* Ensure accurate bank reconciliations in multiple currencies are carried out daily
* Support processing expenses and multi-currency supplier payments
* Administer fortnightly payroll using BobPay (previously known as Pento) and Deputy (time and attendance management tool)
* Prepare sales agent commission reports and payments
* Deal with enquiries from administration team regarding sales account or processing queries
Team Leadership & Development
* Lead, coach, and develop a Credit Controller and two Finance Assistants to build skills, enhance performance, and support career growth
* Foster a collaborative and high-performance culture within the finance team
Systems & Process Improvement
* Drive continuous improvement of accounting practices and processes to enhance efficiency, accuracy, and scalability
* Liaise with external support companies for assistance with finance software system when required (Business Central Dynamics 365)
What You'll Bring
* ACCA / ACA / CIMA Qualified, or qualified by experience (QBE)
* Demonstrated experience in a similar finance or accounting role
* Strong track record in leading, managing and developing teams
* Experience in overseeing or processing operations
* Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and solid competency across MS office applications
* Excellent written and verbal communication skills
* Proven ability to manage time effectively and meet tight deadlines
This is a site-based role, so applicants will need to have their own transport and live within a sensible commuting distance of our offices near Romsey.
