Base pay range

Rate | Up to £68,000 (dependant on experience)

Contract | Full-time, Temporary (Up to 12 Months)

We’re supporting a local authority in their search for an Interim Finance Operations Manager to lead a high-volume processing and income control team for a 12-month maternity cover contract.

This is an excellent opportunity for someone with strong experience in local government finance, including accounts payable, ledger management, reconciliations and CIS administration.

What you’ll be doing:

* Oversee daily processing of supplier invoices and ensure prompt, accurate payments
* Lead on income reconciliation and allocation from various Council systems
* Manage general ledger interfaces, purchase ledger, cash management and feeder systems
* Ensure compliance and accurate reporting under the Construction Industry Scheme (CIS)
* Liaise with departments, suppliers and residents regarding payments and income
* Manage banking processes, BACS transmissions and corporate credit card admin
* Oversee fraud/data return obligations (e.g. NFI, HMRC S16)
* Maintain accurate utility records for housing schemes and oversee associated service charge data
* Line manage the processing team, ensuring high performance, clear planning and staff development

What we’re looking for:

* Strong experience in local authority or public sector financial processing
* Knowledge of the Construction Industry Scheme (CIS)
* Skilled in using financial management systems and data reconciliation tools
* Track record of managing large volumes of payments and income allocations
* Prior experience managing staff and operational delivery across finance teams
* Able to resolve system anomalies and improve process efficiencies
* Confident in working across teams and presenting financial information clearly
